Haitian Dining With Marie's video: HAITIAN LABOUYI BANNANN GREEN PLAINTAIN PORRIDGE

Hi Everyone, Welcome back to my channel!!! and in today's video, I will be showing you how to make LABOUYI BANNANN aka (PLAINTAIN PORRIDGE) PLEASE MAKE SURE TO WATCH IN 1080P OR 720P !!! Please subscribe and give this video a thumbs up if you like the video Ingredients: 1 large green plaintain 3 cups of water 1 cup whole milk mixed with 1 cup water 3 cinnamon sticks 6 anise stars half tsp of salt 1 cup of sugar 1 can of evaporated milk 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract 1 tablespoon of almond extract 1 tsp of nutmeg powder 1 tablespoon of regular butter Directions Step 1 Peel the skin of the plantain and cut into small pieces. It is ok to leave some of the skin for extra nutrients. Step 2 In a pan, add the water, cinnamon, star anise and salt and bring to boil. Step 3 In a blender, puree/blend the plantain with the mixed milk with water for a 1 minute. Make sure you strain the mixture to get rid of plantain residue Step 4 After 10 minutes has passed or once the water is boiling, add the plantain puree to the pot and bring to a boil while stirring continuously for 10 min. THIS IS TO PREVENT THE PORRIDGE FROM PRODUCING ANY LUMPS. The porridge will thicken slightly over time. Step 5 Add the evaporated milk, nutmeg powder, butter, almond & vanilla extract and keep stirring for 10 min on medium low heat Step 6 Serve warm with some Haitian Bread and enjoy
