Happily Ever After Adventures's video: Disney Wonder Alaska Cruise Adventure 2019- Day 4 Skagway Gold Panning

* Follow Us On INSTAGRAM: @happilyeverafteradventures Day 4 of our Disney Wonder Alaska Cruise Adventure 2019 is our first Alaska excursion day. Today, our ship docks at Skagway, Alaska. It is a very small, cute town that we absolutely adore. The history of Skagway is amazing. Long story short, in the days of the gold rush, it was the last civilized stop for fortune-seekers before they made the long, perilous journey to the Yukon. Speaking of gold rush: today's excursion is a gold-panning adventure in the historic Liarsville. We wake up and meet with our travel group. Then we head outside, board our bus, and enjoy a scenic twenty-minute drive to the Liarsville outpost. Here, we are greeted by the "townspeople", who give us a brief history of the area, along with information on what we will be doing. We depart the bus and take some time exploring the area (which is recreated to resemble what the classic outpost once looked like). The street is lined with smithy tents, a saloon, a general store, etc. Also, in the back corner of Liarsville is a beautiful waterfall. We are ushered into the Liarsville Hippodrome, where we are presented with some singing and a puppet show. Then we participate in a scavenger hunt around the camp. While walking, Clara sees Donald Duck in the distance (this is the Disney exclusive excursion, so there are a few characters walking around). She runs up to Donald, who proceeds to walk with her to the gold panning site. We are taught how to pan for gold, and while panning, we are visited by none other than Chip and Dale. We find as much gold as possible, and then we decide to enjoy some campfire smores. After our treat, it is time for lunch: an authentic Alaska salmon bake! We are treated to salmon salad, fresh grilled salmon, vegetables, and a yummy blueberry cake. This excursion has been a blast, but it is soon time to head back to Skagway. Once we are back in Skagway, we spend a little time exploring and shopping around the town. Before long, we are exhausted and decide to venture back to the Disney Wonder for a nap. This evening, the Disney Wonder is filled with various Pixar characters for the meet-and-greets. Clara dresses in her Buzz lightyear dress, and meets every character possible. The interactions are hilarious; we make many wonderful memories. Dinner is at Tiana's Place- our favorite restaurant aboard the Disney Wonder. Tiana's Place has delicious New Orlean's inspired cuisine, along with a live band, The Crawfish Crooners. As we eat, we are greeted by Tiana and Louis The Alligator. The evening is drawn to a close, but not without one more magical surprise. As Josh and Clara are walking to the stateroom, Clara sees Mickey Mouse. We stop by to say goodnight, but instead of a quick hug, Mickey asks Clara to walk with him back to "his home". They proceed to hold hands and walk around most of the ship together; it is such a magical moment. Then we finally say our goodbyes and go to bed.
