Happily Ever After Adventures's video: Christmas at Disneyland Day 1- Arrival

We have decided to celebrate Christmas 2016 by taking a family vacation to the park that started it all: Disneyland in Anaheim, California. This is also baby Clara's first trip to Disneyland. It is a beautiful time to be in the Disney parks, and we are so excited to share our joyous adventure. Day One is arrival day. Upon arrival at the Los Angeles Airport, Clara is reunited with Kathy and Dennis (her "Nonna" and "Pop-pop"); she has not seen them in person since the first week she was born. Over the past year, she has seen them on Facetime several times a week, so at first, she is a little hesitant at the sight of them live, in 4D. After a few moments, though, she smiles and bombards them with hugs and kisses. Travel to Anaheim is a breeze, and our first stop is lunch at Downtown Disney. After a brief tour of the area, we decide to have a simple lunch at Earl of Sandwich. The food is yummy, and everyone is in a great mood as we head to our hotel. For this trip, Kathy and Dennis used a lot of their DVC points to get us a suite at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The interior has a gigantic Christmas tree, a peaceful grotto with a huge fireplace, a live piano player, and the most elegant architecture. To top it all off, guests have a private entrance to Disney's California Adventure in the back of the hotel. The walking distance to Disneyland is close, too. The sheer location of this hotel is an absolute game-changer when it comes to maximizing your times in the park. We check in to our room and all take a little nap. A few hours later, it is dark, and we take a tour of the hotel and marvel at it's nighttime beauty. The Christmas decorations are absolutely amazing. As we walk back into the lobby, Amanda is thrilled to find out that there will be nightly Christmas entertainment. Tonight, we are treated to a lively, fun acapella quartet. We listen to them for a long time before finally grabbing a bite to eat and heading back to our room. As everyone goes to sleep, Josh (who works a nightshift and is therefore up late every night) decides to explore Downtown Disney some more. Behold, he discovers that Downtown Disney is also offering several different acts of nightly Christmas entertainment. What a magical time of year! He walks to the entrance of Disneyland and California Adventure and ends the night with a narration about how excited he is for this trip. Tomorrow will be an even grander adventure!
