*DC Doda inaugrated 15 days training program of willow basket making at Sartingal, Bhaderwah* Bhaderwah, August 03: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Dr.Sagar D Doifode today inaugurated 15 days training programme of willow basket making for JKSRLM Umeed members at Sartingal, Bhaderwah. The training programme is organised by Handicrafts Department, Doda for JKSRLM UMEED volunteers in collaboration with School of Designs, Srinagar, under the able guidance and supervision of DC Doda. While addressing the participants DC Doda appreciated Handicrafts department and JKSRLM Umeed for organising livelihood generation initatives and assured that full cooperation will be extended to create such livelihood activities in future also, besides highlighted the importance of this willow basket making in not only increasing the household income but will also ensure the empowering of women who has to be dependent on other's for fulfilling their bare minimum needs. Mr.vikas Singh Block Programme Manager JKSRLM Umeed was also present in the meeting and discussed various livelihood initatives taken by JKSRLM Umeed . Others who were present during the inaugration ceremony are SSP Doda,SP operations ,SDPO Bhaderwah,Tehsildar Bhaderwah,besides officers and officials from Handicraft Department, they have also appreciated the work of female voulenteers of umeed group.
