Harrison Finch's video: iRacing iGPS 18S2 Round 6 Suzuka

Race Report (Spoilers): Quali: Messed up my first attempt so I backed out for another run. The lap was good overall but there were about 3 tenths to be found across the whole lap, in Degna 1 & 2 I lost 1 tenth and at spoon I lost 2 but I think P4 on the grid is a very good starting place considering the strength of field we had (5 Pro/WC, 4700 SOF). Race: Going into T1 I was probably a little too cautious and it caught out Rasmussen behind who hit my rear wing and damaged it, then there was an incident from which I gained 2 places from. After that I couldn't catch Jorge due to the damage (7kph down on straights) and I had Tommy coming very quickly behind me. When he caught me I let him through and decided to try and gain some time by staying in his slipstream to negate the loss in speed I had on the straights and I knew overall Tommy's pace would be better than mine. I managed to stay behind him for 7 or so laps but then my tyres started to go off and I had to drop out of the dirty air so I didn't make any more mistakes. I pit on lap 16 which was quite early but I had to because Josh was trying to undercut me from behind and at this track it is pretty big. Fortunately I covered the undercut and started saving tyres and ERS immediately in case of an attack from Josh. The tyre saving really helped me towards the end of the stint when Josh's tyres were destroyed and I was able to pull away and start to close back on the 2 ahead of me. Overall the race was pretty dull, I think without my damage I could have stayed with Jorge but I dont think I had any chance of overtaking him because it is very tricky at this track. I am still happy with the result overall as I proved my pace can be up there with some of the Pro/WC guys. Hopefully with more experience I can start to battle with these guys.
