What is the best time to do exercise? The best time to do exercise for performance is around 6 AM, according to the research on lung function, body rhythms, temperature, & hormone levels. People found to workout in afternoon. But morning is the best time to do exercise , Surveys show that we are more likely to exercise at all if we do it first thing in the morning, before we do other things like eat up our free time or give us an excuse to not exercise. daily-exercise Morning Exercise -- Pros and Cons If you want to do exercise regularly, choosing morning exercise makes you easier to stick with your intension and get in to a regular exercise habit. Morning exercises are less likely to affects your schedules and everyday emergencies. If you find hard to make time for exercise during the day, you can get up little early in the morning to get in to your workout. Doing more exercise will increases your heart beat and metabolism, will burn more calories earlier in the day. The exercise afterglow will help you feel energized for hours. The increase blood flow through your brain will helps you in mental acuity for daily tasks. A study found that morning exercise is better for sleep quality than exercising at other times of the day. Make the most of the cool part of the day for outdoor exercise in summer -- running, walking, etc., The air is fresh in the morning. If you are training for a morning race or competition? It's good to do practice in the morning. Cons Body temperature is at its lowest for 1-3 hours before awakening, doing morning exercise will lose energy & look tidy. Warm-ups are very important in the morning, as your muscles are at rest all night. Give yourself a warm-up period of at least 5 minutes of easy exercise before going into a higher intensity workouts. Gentle stretching and flexibility exercises is good for warm-up. Doing Morning exercise is not a magic bullet for burning more calories. Your Body temperature and hormones are higher in late afternoon & you have to work harder later in the day, matching the calorie burning will benefits morning exercise.
