Komic village - In Spiti valley the iconic sign board by the public works department, which describes Komic as the “Highest village in world connected with motorable road”. Komic which literally means “eye of a snow cock” ( Ko – snowcock , mic – eye), is a remote village in Spiti valley. Komic village is situated at an height of 4587 metres or 15027 feet above sea level. Like most of the villages in Spiti valley, most of the residents of Komic practice Budhism. The main reason travelers started visiting Komic was it’s title as the “Highest village in the world connected with a motorable road”. Another reason was it’s close proximity to Langza village (also known as the Fossil Village of India) and Hikkim village (which happens to be the highest village with a post office). Hikkim village - Hikkim village has a post office situated at an elevation of 4,400 m (14,400 ft) and this post office is the one of the highest post offices in the world. Inarguably , the post office located in India's highest altitude . The post office connects small villages in this isolated region to the rest of the world. It receives and sends postal letters. It also acts as a savings bank where villagers can deposit money in their savings accounts or withdraw money. Intrepid travellers make it this far to Hikkim village to take pride in mailing their letters from the highest post office on Earth. The Postal Index Number or PIN of the village is 172114. Chicham Bridge - Chicham Bridge, the highest bridge in Asia, and quite an astounding spectacle at that. The bridge is at a staggering height of 13596 ft and connects the two villages named Chicham and Kibber. Located at a height of around 4500 meters above sea level in the Himalayan mountain ranges, the Chicham Bridge is said to be the world's highest suspension bridge and is one of the most spectacular bridges of the world. The bridge is situated across a deep gorge around 1000 feet in height. Kibber village - Kibber also Kyibar is a village high in the Spiti Valley in the Himalayas at 4270 metres or 14,200 ft in Himachal Pradesh in northern India. It contains a monastery and the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary. It is located 20 kilometres from Kaza and a bus service connects them in the milder summer months. Kye or Kee Monastery - Kye Gompa is said to have been founded by Dromtön (Brom-ston, 1008-1064 CE), a pupil of the famous teacher, Atisha, in the 11th century. This may, however, refer to a now destroyed Kadampa monastery at the nearby village of Rangrik, which was probably destroyed in the 14th century when the Sakya sect rose to power with Mongol assistance.
