The song kind of reflects the regret of not being able to properly send appreciation to her mother (or parent) and just realized it after they are gone. Before something like that would happen, I wanted to tell her how much I am thankful having her as my mother. This song really touched my heart. And for this special day, I wanted to sing it for her. If things were decided a little bit earlier, I'd probably made a piano cover of it instead. Haha!
