Hello friends, I am Sandeep from my youtube channel Heavenly journeys and today I bring to you my video on Chitkul village Himachal Pradesh, India. Chitkul is a beautiful village near India Tibet border in the Kinnaur region of Himachal Pradesh at the height of 11,300 feet above sea level. Chitkul village is 579km from Delhi and 350km from Chandigarh and 237km from state capital Shimla. The journey from Zirakpur to Chitkul village is very scenic going via Pinjor, Solan, Shimla, Kufri, Narkanda, Rampur, Wangtu and Kharcham on famous Hindustan Tibet road which is also called NH 22 but now it is called NH05. The road to Chitkul from Shimla is full of dense forest, waterfalls, glacial streams, snow capped Himalayan mountains and along side the legendary Sutlej river(Satluj river) which joins you near the town of Rampur. Satluj river originates from Rakshasa Tal in Tibet and enters in India through Shipkila pass in Himachal Pradesh and in Khab it joins with Spiti river and then further flows through India's Himahal Pradesh, Punjab and Pakistan and finally merges with Indus river. Through the journey of Chitkul village your first attraction is Shimla and then Kufri and Narkanda. Narkanda is also famous for its skiing activities and apple orchards. Your final road to Chitkul village is divert from Kharcham and Chitkul village is 40km from Kharcham. In that road your continues companion is Baspa river till Chitkul which originates from Indo Tibet border and merges with Satluj river at Kharcham. Kharcham to Chitkul village route is very beautiful going through the scenic village of Sangla, Batseri and Raksham villages with the views of mighty snow capped mountains. The entire Sangla valley is very scenic with the views of lofty Kinner Kailash mountains. In Chitkul village, we stayed in Wanderer's Nest Guest House. Chitkul recieves immense snowfall during winter months.
