Historically and geographically Kurukshetra lies in the famous Sapta Sindhu region(the famous region of seven rivers from Indus to Saraswati river) and also comes under Indus valley civilization and Saraswati valley civilization. In fact the mighty Saraswati river flows through the city of Kurukshetra but now it is dried up. Kurukshetra is the land of Hindus(Sanatan Dharam) because once it comes under ancient Sapta Sindhu region and Punjab region. Both Sapta Sindhu region and Punjab is the land of Hindus. But as nowdays Kurukshetra comes under Haryana State. So Kurukshetra is an important place both historically and geographically.
