Friends, Dharamshala is a beautiful hill station which lies in the heart of the mighty snow capped Dhauladhar mountains in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh at the height of 4780 feet above sea level. Dharamshala is divided in two regions that is lower part is called Dharamshala and upper part of Dharamshala is called Mcleodganj. Mecleodganj lies above the Dharamshala town in the foot of the mighty Dhauladhar mountains at the height of above 6831 feet. Mcleodganj is also the seat of the Tibetan Government in Exile and its head the 14th Dalai Lama. The 14th Dalai Lama and the Tibetan refugees live peacefully in the mighty Dhauladhar mountains of Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. Mcleodganj receives snowfall in the winter months. There are many tourist attractions and sight seeing points near Dharamshala and Mcleodganj which you can enjoy such as Mcleodganj Mall road Market, Bhagsunag waterfall and Temple, Dalai Lama Ashram, Triund, Kareri Lake and Dharamkot village trek, Naddi view point, Dharamshala cricket stadium, Palampur tea gardens, Kangra art museum, Bir and Billing. There are so many hotels and homestays in Dharamshala and Mcleodganj in which you can stay. You can reach Dharamshala and Mcleodganj from different parts of India. Dharamshala is 474 km from Delhi, 237 km from Chandigarh and is 254 km from Dehradun.
