As the stage is set for the inaugural work for construction of the 'Abimansala', the centre for rest and recreation of totally dependent War Heroes, many more surprises are to follow in the coming months. Reputed artists and a galaxy of vocalists are to lend their talents to a mammoth event on 17th July 2010 with the noble intention of collecting funds for this deserving project. THE much-awaited 'Tharu Dilena Reyak', the year's most memorable fund-raising musical extravaganza, organized by the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) for its 'Abimansala' (Wellness Resort) at Anuradhapura, commenced its rehearsing programmes under veteran actresses and popular vocalists. Proceeds from the 'Tharu Dilena Reyak', the mammoth galaxy of popular artists unprecedented in the history of Sri Lankan music and cinema industry are to be exclusively used for the 'Abimansala' construction project. Etisalat has come forward to support as the main sponsor of the event along with the media partner, ITN. The 'Abimansala', the brainchild of the Commander of the Army under the project motto 'Brave Hearts', is spearheaded by the SVAB under the able leadership of Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB. This center for rest and recreation is to accommodate 52 totally dependent War Heroes who sacrificed their legs and limbs for the sake of the country. This fund raising entertainment, 'Tharu Dilena Reyak' at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on 17th July 2010 is lavishly aided and supported by veteran and reputed actresses, Anoja Weerasinghe and Sabeetha Perera and popular singing idols, Bathiya and Santhush. The internationally-recognized dancer cum choreographer, Chandana Wickramasinghe plays a pivotal role in the mammoth event. Tickets for the show, coloured by a galaxy of dazzling artistes and young stars of different talents will soon be available at all major Cargills Food City malls at Staples St., Rajagiriya, Ratmalana, Nugegoda and Kiribathgoda. Tickets are priced at Rs.5,000/=, Rs.2,000/=, Rs.1,000/=, Rs.750/= and Rs.500/= and can be purchased at the entrance to the stadium. In addition, the SVAB has produced a special T-shirt and a Cap for sale in order to collect funds for the 'Brave Hearts' project. All of you are invited to buy these mementos of appreciation and salute the true sons of the soil who sacrificed their tomorrow for us.
