Hemav's video: IXOrigu Project

@IXOriguè Project
The name Ixoriguè is taken from the Benasquese dialect, “patués”, and it refers to a kestrel who likes to maintain its position against the wind and the similarities between its flight and that of a drone. The intention behind the title’s name was to bring technology closer to the user and to do it from the heart of the Pyrenees. For that, two well-established entities like the Pyrenees Business School (ESNEPI) and the Monte de Estós Landowners Community, where close to 700 cows spend the summer season in its almost 4,000 hectares, ensure the proximity of the developments. These developments are executed by HEMAV, global leading company in the implementation of drones and advanced solutions for the digitalisation of the industry, high mountain stockbreeding in this case. The first experiences with animals have already been conducted and during the month of June the first group of sensors were implemented in the first chosen tens of animals (cows and bulls). You can keep track of all developments on the project’s website: www.ixorigue.com or on twitter @IxorigueProject. These sensors, in the spirit of the project aimed at intelligent (digital) livestock management, will allow the cowboys and breeders to consult the state of the animals and prioritize attention based on veterinary grounds from their mobile phone, tablet or computer. This will make it possible, for example, to detect in advance the moment in which the animals will give birth to their calves with a view to reducing mortality at calving. Furthermore, HEMAV has completed the first stage of training to the group of breeders selected to carry out the flights during the summer campaign. An informative event addressed to the livestock world but open to the public, was organised in the first half of July to present the first outcomes of this interesting project with a focus on intelligent livestock management. This project is funded by FEDER through the Government of Aragón. The technological development has been carried out by Hemav. Objectives of the project: Decrease in livestock-mortality rate Improvement and optimisation of livestock management in extensive grazing Improvement and optimisation of pasture management All of it, thanks to the early monitoring and care of the animals that may have problems during their time in the mountains, by merging the Internet of things technologies and the use of multispectral cameras and drones. We are working on the development of an “Electronic collar” prototype, equipped with sensors to monitor beef cattle that graze in relative freedom. The project’s outcomes will enable us to design an action strategy applicable to all those areas where extensive stockfarming is carried out in areas of difficult access. https://hemav.com/hemav/innovacion/
