Heping1's video: Wushu Training at Tagou Wuxiao December 1999

The Tagou Wuxiao is the largest Wushu School worldwide with currently over 25’000 students enrolled. Founded in 1978 by Liu Baoshan it is the only school beside the Shaolin Wushuguan that still resides in the area around the Shaolin Temple. All other schools had to move to Dengfeng. This footage was made in November 1999 after the World Wushu Championships in Hong Kong. A group of German and Swiss students travelled with me to Tagou for a training trip after the World Championships. During our time there, they also held a School internal championship from which these recordings are. Even it was quite cold they still performed in T-Shirts. My training there was focused on repetition of Yinshou Gun and we also learned a new routine called Zhenshan Gun with Coach Zhu Bangbo. This routine was obviously invented there as it had mostly clear modern elements in this routine. This was one of my last trips to the area. I had to realize that the more martial arts tourist came to the area the loss of quality emerged rapidly. Nonetheless I enjoyed the training there, as in November we were the only foreigners training there. In the Video i was talking about December 1999. I can't remember that clearly but as the World Championships were in November it's logical that most footage was made in November as well.
