Ash and Pikachu grow old together and experience a lifetime of ups and downs. But all good things must come to an end. Pikachu grows old, and has to be put down at a Pokecentre. On the way home after releasing his little buddy, Ash comes across a Froakie that has been hit by a car. Paralyzed, this poor Froakie needs Ash and Brock to train him so he can evolve. Unfortunately, Though Froakie becomes a Frogadier, and ultimately a Greninja, he can never evolve out of his little PokeWheelchair. Ash and Froakie spend ages together, but ash never forgot Pikachu. When Ash finally collapses of old age, the final image in his eyes is of his one true Pokemon; Pikachu. And he calls out one final time to his long gone buddy. "I'll Always Choose You Pikachu" he says - as his faithful paralyzed Frogadier watches on in horror and heartbreak. Frogadier stayed by Ashes side as he decayed in to a corpse, long enough that Frogadier evolves in to Greninja out of heartbreak and loneliness. Finally, once the authorities have investigated the Ketchum residence, Ash is buried. And Greninja faithfully stays by his graveside. When finally, at last, a silver lining? A little boy, also in a wheelchair, chances past Greninja at the grave site. He offers to be Greninja's trainer. But is it the last fevered dream of a dying Greninja?
