History Profiles's video: Hywel Dda the King of the Britons the Last Kingdom

@Hywel Dda the King of the Britons | the Last Kingdom
To know more about Hywel, first we must know more about Welsh History. Although the Romans invaded Wales in the first century AD, only South Wales ever became part of the Roman world as North and Mid-Wales is largely mountainous. After the Roman period, the Welsh Kingdoms that emerged were the ones that commanded pieces of rich lands. Hywel was a member of the house of Dinefwr. Hywel’s ancestor was Cunedda ap Edern, born in late Roman Britain. He was a war lord who founded the Kingdom of Gwynedd during the 5th century following the Anglo-Saxon Settlement of England. Hywel would do much for his Kingdom and had a very interesting life, being born into one of the most turbulent times in Britain’s history. This is his story.
