HistoryLUC's video: Blaeu Globes

@Blaeu Globes
The Blaeu Globes are one of the masterpiece objects on display in the exhibition Crossings and Dwellings: Restored Jesuits, Women Religious, American Experience, 1814--2014, at the Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) in the Summer and Fall 2014. Crossings and Dwellings commemorates both the 200th anniversary of the Restoration of the Society of Jesus (1814-2014) and a century of women's education at Loyola-Mundelein (1914-2014). Using historical maps, books, documents, objects and textiles, Crossings and Dwellings tells the story of nineteenth-century European Jesuits and women religious who arrived on the country's expanding western frontier to serve both Native American and urban immigrant populations. The institutions they established would expand throughout the following twentieth century. Runs July 19 -- October 19, 2014. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/1j2pcAH
