People say that the name of this place Bandel came from the Bangla word “Bondor” (port), this historic church is a witness or memorial of Portuguese presence in Bengal, Mughal period's this Indian priest Church is not only ancient but also famous too and many history is associated with this church, However, many years have passed also many incident have happened and this church has improved further it has been beautified and every year many people meet in the church premises on Christmas Day or December 25, on the occasion of Jesus Christ's Birthday. This special day is like a happy day to the rest of the world, as it is a happy day for the whole of India, So many people gathered here to see this place of peace without any distinguishing of religion or caste many of these people’s newly come here to see & know about this historic place many people came to visit and spend time otherwise many came here to enjoy with their family and friends, Mainly so many Christian people come here to pay tribute to Jesus Christ, different people came to travel here for different purposes because it is as a spectacular tour and travelling place. When I went there on that special day, this church was closed so I could not video of the inside scenes of the church, but I could hold on to my awesome video clip that has few wonderful spectacle or some amazing nice memorial statue images outside of the church the marvelous art works that touch the human heart deeply and this scene awakens God's thoughts which teach people to be patient and forgiving, We all know the words and ideals of the great Jesus Christ, so we will not need to say anything more keeping these words in mind, lots of people like as – father mother boys and girl men & women (mahila) ladka ladki ladies (aurat) old and young all type of people gather here on this day, this is a beautiful social grand festival of christian community and all.
