This is the second part of a two part series on backpacking Southeast Asia. The story picks up on a brutal ten mile hike through the pouring rain to climb Mt. Rinjani in Lombok, Indonesia. After that we travel South to Kuta Lombok for festivals, surfing, worms, bracelet shopping, and cockfights. Then we travel over the ocean to the Philippines and get a sobering dose of reality in the poverty strewn streets of Manila, take a night bus to Banaue to see the rice terraces, chill in Cebu City to regroup, and then voyage over to El Nido, Palawan for one last hoo-rah before the long flight home.
