So much wonderful information about George S. Patton, Jr. and his time at Camp Young at Chiriaco Summit, just outside of Indio, California on I10 leading to Blythe California. The museum covers information about the Korean and Vietnam wars as well, with a brand new very beautiful and complete section the West Chandi section which is about Patton, Rommel and the WWII; a really thorough history. The Tank Yard, houses tankers even from Russia. Veterans, school students, and historians will learn and fully enjoy the tour. Open daily from 10 a.m to 4:30 p.m. 435- 922-0213. Margit Chiriaco Rusche, is our hometown hero for the hours and extra measure of care and time she commits to the museum. Her father and mother started Chiriaco Summit and donated the land for the museum, but it really takes a lot of attention and constant updating, which she does!
