I went live to over a 100 million people tuning into the Beyond 100 Days news show on BBC World News TV and BBC News, discussing new research by a team at Heidelberg University in Germany who found that parents tend to be happier than non-parents in old age, but only if their kids have moved out. I argued, that despite the stress, my young kids have already made me happy (you can, of course be as happy without kids in my opinion) but I’m personally dreading my kids flying the nest!
