When we had the block sent to the machine shop to get cleaned and refreshed, they said there had been a rod knocking but it didn't seem bad enough to warp the crankshaft or score the cylinder walls. We had the block line-bored and the crank machined down a bit so we could use larger bearings and salvage the block. After the work, the main caps wouldn't fit on the crank to where it could still spin freely. We had the machine shop work on it again, and the end result was the same. So, we ended up getting a second 1F engine that hasn't run in years. Since we've already had the head refreshed we'll just be using the block from the second 1F and keep the head as a spare. Concerning the body, the plan is to have it sandblasted, plasma cut out the rust holes, and weld in panels to replace the ones that were rusted.
