My clientele has included Faith Hill, Mark Ruffalo, Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jane Krakowski. I want to be able to show you that hair isn't as intimidating or as hard as you think it is and I want you be able to have fun with it and do what your vision is with your hair. Alright, so now I'm gonna show you how to straighten hair with a round brush. As you notice, the brush I have in my hand, the bristles are quite close together. This is going to give a lot of control as we straighten, and a lot of grip, as we straighten our model's hair today. As you can see, she's got a lot of natural wave texture in her hair already. She also has a lot of frizz, which is due to dryness. We can straighten all that out using a round brush, a little bit of product, and a blow dryer. Now if you're confused about how to use a blow dryer, you can look back at another video clip I've done, showing you exactly how you can use that to control and make sure that you get out all that frizz. Now, on our model's hair, I'm putting in a little bit of heat protector, because her hair is naturally dry. You can do this on anyone's hair, especially if your hair is colored, curly hair tends to be dryer than straight hair. You wanna give it a little extra protection. But if you're somebody in general who's using a lot of hair on your hair, heat protector's always a good thing. What that's doing is it's coating the hair shaft so that it's providing a barrier between the hair shaft and the heating. The heating product, whether it's a blow dryer, a curling iron, a flat iron. So sometimes you'll see that steam off the hair. What that steaming off is the product so that actually can be a good thing as long as you don't smell any burning sensation, that would be a bad one. But sometimes you might see that a little bit. You probably will see this as I put in this product in her hair and blow dry it through. So, how're you going to straighten it? I'm gonna show you first without the blow dryer, and then I'm gonna show you with the blow dryer on. Turn your head a little bit to the left. What you want to do to straighten the hair is that, what we need is really good grip. As I go down the hair, notice first, just wanted to clarify this, I have a pretty large brush for her, you can even use a larger, you see sometimes there's really large round brushes, you can use those, that'll give you a little bit of lift and straighten as you go along. I like this size a little better, I find a little bit more controllable for her hair length. Again, it depends on your hair length. For my own hair, I obviously use a much smaller brush, because this isn't going to do any good on my hair. So as I go through, this is the key, you straighten all this out. I'm pretty sure most people know how to do that, and I'll show you how. You just brush down the hair. This is the difference: whether you want a curled-in end, or you want a straight end. As you take your blow dryer, if you want a curled end, you're obviously going to curl the brush. As you can see, the hair is curled around the brush. If you want to straighten these ends out, so what you want to do, to keep it straightened, rather than curl the hair under, like this, you're going to keep the brush moving along the ends of the hair and as you notice, rather than going up, I'm keeping the brush moving at the ends. And you'll see, when I start using my blow dryer, that this is gonna straighten that out completely. This is the trick right here. If you keep your blow dryer like this, it's not really gonna do anything. This is what's going to give it the control. Another thing you can do, is use a Mason Pearson brush. Or even a flat head brush, that'll straighten that down, you can straighten that through the ends. But you'll find that if you use a round brush, it gives just a little bit more polished of a look. So I'm going to show you that now. Now, what you'll notice, is that the hair still has a little bit of a bend, which is nice. Because if you want it super supe
