Hawk No_486 's video: 2 1970s HLTP Shires Rubberwells Royal Doulton Ashton pans

The long lost combination of my childhood toilet, finally found after 15 years of searching. Was deffo not expecting this, well to be open anyway. A superb original setting all around, L's eq was sadly closed though, and has an original washbasin in sight. The WCs in the M's are almost the same as the Southborough toilet I had that I lost when I was 5. It consisted of a 1930s separate upstairs WC, with a Royal Doulton Ashton pan, 5 buffer wooden seat, 1930s HLTP lead pipe to the left with 90 degree bends and a Shires Rubberwell / Hippo cistern (ether one of the two but both use the same syphon) The walls were white and had wood-chip wallpaper, there was red carpet inside (typical for the houses in that area) and was slightly over to the right, sadly replaced by a CCPB AS Sandringham after I moved. Both cisterns retain the original syphons, although have springs & are dual flush, my old one seemed to have the slightly older version of that syphon as the fulcrum would stick down while flushing and going back up in the end. The 2nd (locked off one) is probably the closest i'll ever get to that legendary WC. Twisted pipe the left way, and had the distinctive "wooooosh" mine had when it gets flushing. The in use one doesn't quite get there, likely down to something blocking the middle jet, but it's still superb. These cistern brackets indicate the original cisterns were likely 1910s / 1920s Frank Love Ltd "Super Burlington" cisterns in painted 3 gallon capacity.
