ASL-English voice interpretation and English captions provided. is a virtual consciousness-raising engaging online talk show, led by Black and Native American Deaf host Mr. Antoine Hunter PurpleFireCrow. Founded as a response to isolation and misinformation experienced during CoVID-19, provides access to the Deaf BIPOC life stories, critical coverage of the movement, education, Arts, social justice and analysis of CoVID-19-related news for Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened and Black Hearing communities. Our mission is to provide opportunities for our stories to be heard by providing the platform to uplift BIPOC Deaf and disabled artists voices and to contribute to the arts and larger society, increasing awareness at the intersections of audism, ableism, and racism--this includes DeafDisabled stories as a force for cultural change and collective liberation. There is also a space to talk about economics, parenthood, and education. All episodes will be produced with ASL Interpreters and captioning welcoming everyone to the conversation. The host: Bay Area native, Antoine Hunter also known Purple Fire Crow is an award-winning Internationally-known African-American, Indigenous, Deaf, Disabled, choreographer, dancer, actor, instructor, speaker, Producer and Deaf advocate. He creates opportunities for Disabled, Deaf and hearing artists and produces Deaf-friendly events, and founded the Urban Jazz Dance Company and Bay Area International Deaf Dance Festival. Guest Bio: A native of Philadelphia, received her B.F.A in Dance at Temple University. She has studied at an array of schools and companies pursuing African, Hip-Hop, Modern and Ballet dance techniques. Among her credits in TV/Film as an extra in Law & Order, she had roles in multiple awarded winning independent films, 'The Shattered Mind' as Imani and 'Paralax' as Melanie Bardo, both Deaf roles. Also she acted in, 'SOFIE', directed by award winning director Ella Jane. In Theater, ‘Almost Maine’, a Deaf role and award winning play, FETES DE LA NUIT. Along with others, an understudy for Purple lady In ‘FOR COLORED GIRLS’, Off-Broadway and multiple ensemble roles in Deaf Broadway play, ‘Legally Blonde’, the Musical. Currently, grooming her careers in other outlets to create a brand name as an entrepreneur as well as a platform to inspire Black Deaf women to never give up striving. Jubil Khan grew up in the city of Philadelphia with her mom and sister. The only Deaf child in the family, she has the best of both worlds. She learned to speak fluently as well as communicate in sign language. Her mom pushed for her to have a good education. In her teen years, she was suddenly exposed to a different culture, the Deaf and ASL culture at MSSD ( Model Secondary School for the Deaf) high school. Along with obtaining her education, She followed her love for dance and acting to creatively express herself in the performing arts. She wanted to create her tune and define her own narratives of who she is as a black deaf girl. Her growing years into an independent woman, took her to multiple avenues. Other than the many great opportunities she had with dancing, acting, modeling, interview host , Deaf advocate, as well as supervisor in visual merchandising/styling (for the love of fashion), she currently paves her journey into health and wealth. Holistic spiritual living practice is important as well as learning and building generational wealth to build and create our story for the next generation.
