Tour Temple Newsam house, farm and grounds, and discover the origins of one of Leeds's best known ghost stories. The estate has certainly provided its share of history, with details listed in the domesday book, over 1000 years ago. Of course it is relatively recently, the last 300 - 400 years, that the estate has taken its current form thanks to a succession of owners, including Sir. Arthur Ingram and his descendents, who were responsible for developing the main house, converting it from a court yard home into the beautiful land mark it is today. Temple Newsam house and farm, including the expansive grounds, ponds, and walled garden currently sit on a parcel of approximately 1000 acres, but originally consisted of over 4000 acres.
