Syria has experienced civil unrest, coups and revolutions ever since it's independence, with dictatorship ultimately reigning supreme among the nation, however, between 1964 and 1982, the Muslim Brotherhood staged large-scale protests, demonstrations, riots, strikes, and an Insurgency ultimately broke out against the new Ba'athist and Assad Regimes, backed by Ba'athist Iraq and eventually Saddam Hussein, the group would gain land with zero success, and would be ultimately be brutally crushed by the iron fist of the Regime(s) in Syria, and would be seen as the last non-Kurdish uprising against the Ba'athist Regime until the First Arab Spring.
