South Sudan had achieved victory in the wake of the First and Second Sudanese Civil Wars, gaining an Autonomous Region of its own and finally independence from Sudan, however, before it's independence, South Sudan began to suffer ethnic violence between various tribal and militia groups, as well as multiple rebellions against the SPLA and later South Sudan, South Sudan would begin the road eventually leading to the South Sudanese Civil War.
