Long before the first hybrids came along 15 years ago, there were generally described “fuel sippers” and if any conventionally powered car can be called one of these, it would be the Toyota Corolla. Of course the sliding scale of what’s considered “good” gas mileage has gone up, but with its full overhaul of the compact sedan for 2014 and carried forth for 2015, the “Eco” version of the Corolla is rated up to 30 mpg city, 42 highway, 35 combined.
