I Like Movies and Music's video: 2020 What s Going On

2020 has already been a hell of a year. Now with the unjust death and murder of George Floyd and the subsequent reaction to this murder, outrage has been sparked across America. I decided to cut together the footage with Marvin Gaye's Inner City Blues and What's Going On as backdrop, since these songs seem to be relevant, even today. My opinion on this as a White European: The death of George Floyd was murder, it was clear from the start, the officer who killed George Floyd, Derek Chauvin should be charged with murder, not manslaughter. The riots as a reaction to the death of George Floyd are laying within a grey area between necessary call for action and unjustly looting and destroying private property. Local businesses suffer as a consequence. Even though I know peacefully protesting won't change a thing, since the American justice system has proven fraudulent time and time again, looting local businesses and ruining people's livelyhood won't change a thing. This will only increase the already problematic polarisation in America. If you do want to protest with violence and vandalism, vandalise the government, not the people.
