ICA's video: RIP SENI Q A with Aji Lewis Seni s mother

@RIP SENI – Q&A with Aji Lewis, Seni’s mother
One morning in June 2020, the words ‘RIP SENI’ appeared graffitied across a public artwork outside the Bethlem Royal Hospital in south London. The words referenced Olaseni Lewis, a 23-year-old black man who died after being restrained by 11 police officers while in the care of the hospital in 2010. The Guardian produced a documentary called ‘RIP SENI’, which follows what happened after the graffiti – it launched a discussion about race, mental health and injustice in the UK, and the effects on families. This conversation was recorded at the ICA with Aji Lewis (Seni’s mother) and Lucy Owen (Executive Producer) after a screening of the film.
