IIED's video: Implementing biocredits: making the market work for nature and people

@Implementing biocredits: making the market work for nature and people
This online event discussed how we can use economic incentives to protect biodiversity and reduce poverty. The rich diversity of life in all its forms is declining faster than at any time in human history, pushing us towards an ecological and economic tipping point. To mitigate this threat, there is growing support for using market incentives as a conservation tool to protect nature and reduce poverty. Hosted by the International Insitute for Environment and Development (IIED) in partnership with UNDP, this event on 5 July 2022 explored the role of biocredits in mitigating biodiversity loss. We heard leading researchers and practitioners discuss how economic incentives can be implemented and how they can provide finance to those living in remote rural areas.
