IIED's video: CBA16 opening plenary 3 October 2022

The experimental and interactive opening plenary at the 16th International Conference on Community-based Adaptation (CBA16) focused on introducing locally led adaptation (LLA), breaking the ice and considering the major issues. The session encouraged participants to connect with the LLA principles more creatively and personally, perhaps opening up new perspectives and ideas not considered previously. In addition to engaging speakers, small groups were created to break the ice and set the stage for a conference rich in learning, experience sharing and interactive discussion. Among the speakers was René van Hell, the director for inclusive green growth, ambassador for sustainable development and arctic ambassador, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, since August 2021.
