IIED's video: Top tips for climate talks: a conversation between Prakriti Koirala and Isatou Camara

Prakriti Koirala, climate change negotiator and researcher from Nepal, and her mentor Isatou Camara, from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs in The Gambia, chat about their mentoring relationship and their experience as junior and senior climate change negotiators at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh. Prakriti and Isatou were paired up as part of a mentoring programme led by IIED. This initiative matches junior UNFCCC negotiators with experienced negotiators from the Least Developed Countries (LDC) group to increase their ability, confidence, networks, and maximise their influence in the UN climate change negotiations. "My mentor Isatou Camara gave me valuable guidance on how to follow my designated agenda item, in particular staying committed to reading as much information as possible; she also guided me on where and how to get hold of the most up-to-date information, generated constantly as the negotiations progress."
