"Beautiful People" is a 1994 song recorded by the American singer Barbara Tucker, who co-wrote the single with singer India, Lem Springsteen and "Little" Louie Vega, who along with partner Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez, co-produced the track. This was Tucker's first of seven number-one singles on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, reaching the top spot on April 16, 1994. On the UK Chart, the single peaked at number 23 in 1994. Mixmag ranked "Beautiful People" as one of The 30 best vocal house anthems ever in 2018. Barbara Tucker (Brooklyn, New York) is an African American house and soul singer, songwriter and choreographer. Her music has had an impact on mainstream and dance music across the United States and throughout Europe. Tucker had six hits on the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart in the 1990s and into the 2000s, and several hits on the UK scene. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Barbara started singing through her entertainer father, Jayotis Washington of the group, The Persuasions. As an actress, Barbara has performed in various off-Broadway plays which allowed her to receive the "T.O.R." award through the American Theater for actors for 'most promising actress with distinguishing artiste'. As a dancer, she has choreographed and danced for various dance artist such as C&C Music Factory, Soul System, Jay Williams, and Deee-Lite.
