@Why are coins of all denominations not accepted by the shopkeepers and customers in Itanagar.

In response to rumors that coins are not being accepted by banks, as well as claims of shopkeepers and customers that counterfeit coins are doing the rounds, the Itanagar State Bank of India accountant clarified that "coins of all denominations as per the Reserve Bank of India, irrespective of design, are legal tender and must be accepted."
