The single-circuit, horizontal, "3 V" insulator tower design dominates the state of West Virginia, and the trend toward steel poles is here to stay, and there are already very tall versions for highway crossings, depending on the local geography. I believe that in the US, there must be 500 kV double-cable lines; in this video, double-cable lines with apparently 500 kV insulators appear. At 0:39, an unusual and frightening tower appears, an angled version for a straight section of the line, the first time I have seen such an adaptation.
