On December 7th exactly 20 years ago, I was lucky enough to attend my first ever rock show which opened my mind and heart for the world of rock at the very young age. Legendary Deep Purple visited Belgrade for the first time (not counting Mk3's show in 1975) while supporting their first album with Don Airey titled "Bananas". On that cold December evening, over 20.000 hungry fans gathered at the Fair Hall 1 to witness a historical show. Purple's concert opened the gate for world acts to visit Belgrade once again, after a decade of isolation in the 90's and Democratic changes in 2000. To this day this sold out show represents a turning point for musical culture in the post-war Serbia.
