With his longtime friend and music collaborator, the conductor Paul Mann. he started recording the studio version of his iconic piece "Concerto For The Group And Orchestra", in the late 2011 when Lord was diagnosed with cancer. During the studio version three different guitarist for three movements, including; Darin Vasilev, Steve Morse and Joe Bonamassa.
