There were once skateboarders who got a cable television show. And on that show, they allowed themselves to be bitten by snakes, attacked by dogs, and subjected to all manner of terrors. Some of these stunts go from playful to borderline insane and dangerous. 15. Tidal Wave Jackass comes from a long line of old comedians and practices a tradition of hazardous comedy that goes back to the days of Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd. To pay their homage to the greats, the group came up with the Tidal Wave stunt. Most of the joke plays out with focus from the camera placement so that Knoxville seems to vanish into thin air after the enormous wall of water hits him.And for a while, it seemed like they lost him to the large mass of water... This stunt may not be the most glamorous or complex in Jackasss long series, but it represents what, and both of those pioneers would surely have loved this stunt. 14. Jet Engine If there's one thing that separates Jackass stunts from all others, it's a story. What's a jackass stunt without a beautiful short story to build-up to the funny prank. This prank opens as a parody of the old Maxell commercial, with the late Ryan Dunn seated directly in a fighter jet's exhaust path. Then they involved a bunch of engine-related tantrums. They use the jet to launch footballs, destroy produce, and test a wingsuit before wiping out a waiter. 13. The Big Red Rocket Johnny Knoxville, known for his daring stunts, isn't a stranger to death scares on the Jackass, the leader has come close to death many times on the set of Jackass, but this might be the closest: While trying to launch himself into space by clinging to the back of a "big red rocket," things didn't go as planned. The apparatus misfired, shooting shrapnel just past his torso. In typical fashion, he got back on the rocket and did it again, this time successfully. So not only does Jackass make us laugh our guts out, but it also preaches that persistence pays off. 12. The Burglars A good story may be a great ingredient to Jackass stunts but what really brings everything together is something different- their unwitting assistant and his accidentally flawless comic timing. In this stunt, Bam and Johnny play burglars who fall through a ceiling into an office, while hidden cameras record the drones' reactions, one of whom bolts before they even crash to the floor. It's funny in real-time, but then they cut to a replay, and the replay is nothing short of incredible. They eventually brought out the poor guy who bolted back, while they all have a good laugh about the silliness. 11. Fireworks Wake-Up Bam Margera's impossibly patient parents were frequent Jackass guest stars. Their reactions to their adult son's endless shenanigans were so funny the Margera clan eventually got their spinoff series, Viva La Bam (Fun fact, it ran on MTV a lot longer than Jackass). The show's highlight came very late at night when Bam woke his father up with a fireworks display in their house. Thinking that was the end of the nightmare, Bam's poor dad climbs into his van to head to work the next morning, only to meet Bam again, waiting with another round of fireworks. It's a wonder how he didn't disown Bam after that horrific scare. This isn't technically a jackass stunt, but Bam's witty participation makes it worth a place on this list. Electric Seat In this sketchy stunt, the crew instructs Jason "Wee Man" Acuña to sit on a stool to have cards thrown into his butt crack by a professional card thrower. Simple and plain enough. What Wee Man didn't know was that sitting down to receive cards was only half of the story. The real gag is that the stool is electrified. Every time a card is thrown at Wee Man's butt, the crew sets off a shock. But that's not the best part. When Wee Man finally manages to catch on after a series of jotting shocks, he believes that it's a "machine," which sends the crew laughing. He then decides that it's a "card throwing machine," making the stunt even funnier. 9. Butterbean Brawl Eric Esch, Aka Butterbean, world super heavyweight boxing champion and overall intimidating guy vs. Johnny Knoxville, was never a fair fight, but that's why this stunt one of the craziest jackass stunts ever. Even the intimidating figure of Butterbean was never going to make Knoxville back down; the two slug it out in the middle of a store, much to the confusion of all of the customers and store staff.
