@TOP 10 BIGGEST Things Ever Stolen
Top 10 Biggest Things Ever Stolen. At the very least, when you think of stealing, you also think of getting away with theft, which is why- to increase the chances, people consider stealing smaller scale items, like a chocolate bar! Or at least something you can quickly get away with, like a car! Subscribe For More Amazing Videos ► http://bit.ly/Theimpressive ◄ Don't forget to hit that bell! However, there are always the few people who tend to think on a larger scale, taking on large items far beyond what you can slip in your pocket. Go big or go home. More often than not, some people have taken large scale theft to a whole new level; here are 10 Biggest Things Ever Stolen. 10. 300 Manhole Covers If you’ve ever handled a manhole cover, you’ll know these steel coverings are no joke. They weigh a tonne and are usually set in place by heavy-duty vehicles. That’s why it was shocking when in 1990, in Los Angeles, two thieves stole 300 manhole covers weighing 300 pounds each. That’s 90,000 pounds of metal if you’re too lazy to do the math! The thieves in question then tried to sell the metal off for $75, which is crazy since the loot is worth over 30 times their sale price. 9 A Tank People can snap at any time and decide to get revenge when they feel like they have been wronged, though not everyone goes to such lengths as one man did one infamous day in San Diego, California, in 1995. Shawn Nelson, a U.S. Army veteran and unemployed plumber stole an M60A3 Patton tank from the United States National Guard Armoury in San Diego, California. Throughout his rampage, which was caught on live television, he left the destruction of many cars, fire hydrants, and even an RV vehicle in his wake. The 23-minute chase by San Diego police ended tragically, as the thief was shot and killed by Police. 8 Church It’s clear that stealing is wrong, but let’s face it, not everyone cares. But even if you’re the worst villain in the book, there’s only so much you can steal. There are a few things off-limits. A church, you’d think, should go without saying. I mean, who would imagine that anybody would ever steal a church. Apart from the moral dilemma, the efforts that would go into robbing a whole church doesn’t seem like it’s worth the risk. Locals of Komarovo, a village northeast of Moscow, didn’t see any problem with it, though. Brick by brick, the villagers took apart the different pieces of a 200-year-old church to sell to local businesses who would use the material. The church had been unused for years, so it took some time for officials to notice any foul play. When church officials began to return for services at the old building, they were shocked to see that only the foundation and a few wall sections of the church were left. 7. A Fully Loaded Oil Tanker Oil Tankers have always been targeted on the seas for obvious reasons. The cargo on these babies cost millions and billions of dollars. No wonder pirates can’t get enough of it. It’s like a blinking Christmas tree with a sign that says steal me. Almost every year, thousands of these sea hoodlums lay ambush for these walking vessels of money, but the military manages to hold them off in most cases. In November 2008, though, Somali pirates managed to steal a fully loaded oil tanker from an oil field off the coast of Ghana. The tanker contained 4.1 million barrels of oil worth $100 each. While you’d think this was daunting enough. They tried their luck a second time and made away with another oil tanker. Then again. Tanker after tanker, 3 of them disappeared like they were nothing, leading authorities to believe that a portion of the Nigerian navy set to guard that area of the sea were in on it. An investigation was open, and after a while, one tanker was recovered. The rest, never to be seen again! For copyright matters please contact us at "theimpressiveinc@gmail.com"
