With all of that money and pretty much nothing to do, Khufu and his engineers decided to take on a project that beats any other structure in the Bronze Age. The pyramid was the creme-de-la-creme of its time. In part, Khufu had selected the site to distance himself from other pyramids built by his father and previous pharaohs.
