When it was initially conceived in 2010, it seemed like it would never see the light of day, but it's been a decade since then, and the design is now the final stage of development. If all goes well, we could see planes like this taking to the skies as soon as 2030 – 2035. While most of the plane's design isn't anything out of the ordinary, it features a novel truss-bracing to its wings. According to its designers, this feature will allow the plane to fly higher and faster.
