Improvement Path's video: Anxiety Recovery - Why Your Body is Priority

@Anxiety Recovery - Why Your Body is Priority
Did you ever try yourself in meditation, mindfulness, positive thinking and these kind of things? If yes, were you capable to concentrate on these exercises and reap the benefits? For someone with high levels of anxiety cognitive exercises can be very difficult to practice as the brain is set into negativity mode almost throughout the day. Having an anxiety / panic disorder simply goes hand in hand with high stress levels which the body will react to with its fight or flight mode. In this state the minds sole focus is to focus on possible threats and keeping you safe. That’s why exercises solely concentrated on calming the mind are so hard to do. Doing this is like working against our natural instincts. I believe that anxiety recovery should be the other way around. Just because the body and the mind are so connected. Positively influence one of them and the other will be affected as well. And the great thing about having this sort of an approach is that unlike the brain your body can be pushed and controlled in order to get certain exercises done. Getting rid of muscle tension and the fatigue that goes hand in hand with anxiety should be your number one goal at least at the beginning of your recovery journey. Not only will you reduce the amount and frequencies of your anxiety symptoms but getting back your bodies sense of comfort will have a direct positive impact on your mental state. Feeling comfortable will make you, stronger, happier and more motivated to tackle issues on hand plus makes your mind a lot less controllable. This is the stage in which cognitive exercises will make sense and you will be able reap all the benefits out of them and so accelerate your anxiety recovery.
