The first prototypes date back to the 30s, but the first model to be shown to the general public was at the Automobile Trade Fair in 1948. Production didn’t stop until 1990. 7 octobre 1998 On fête aujourd'hui les 50 ans de la 2CV CITROEN, dont les prototypes datent des années 1930 mais qui ne fut présenté au Salon de l'Automobile qu'en 1948. La fabrication n'a été arrêtée qu'en 1990.
