Prior to the pandemic, Lauren Holman worked as a history teacher at a remote charter school. While she was prepared to teach online, she wasn’t prepared to also take on the responsibility of educating her two young kids. Looking at the devastation the pandemic has caused, Holman is begging policymakers to look at children as individuals—and not force them into one-size-fits-all learning options.
