India picked up regular wickets in the Bangladesh innings and never let them take off in the chase, bowling them out for 134 and winning by 131 runs. Indian bowlers, including the spinners, were impressive as Bangladesh failed to score runs on a pitch that was on the slower side. Two terrific run-outs also crippled Bangladesh. Earlier, India were cruising towards a big total with Shubman Gill and Prithvi Shaw playing with ease. After the wicket of Shaw, Abhishek Sharma scored a half-century while Gill made 86. But Bangladesh made a good comeback and bowled India out for 265 before completing the 50 overs. Gill and Shaw put up a partnership of 86 runs before the Indian captain was dismissed due to an absolute beauty from Qazi Onik. Gill looked primed for a century but was dismissed on 86. India vs Bangladesh ICC U-19 World Cup: As it happened – Shubman Gill is the player of the match and he says that India were looking to score over 300 but with the pitch being on the slower side and once the spinners came on, the runs stopped coming and India ended up with 265. Even this total proved too much for Bangladesh. They were bowled out for 134 and India won the match by 131 runs. India closer to the semi-final spot in the World Cup. 0920 hrs IST: WICKET! Shivam Mavi takes his second wicket. A slower delivery to Maidul Islam who tries to hit it too hard. A bottom edge and it hits his stumps. Bangladesh six down and in trouble. like share and support But for those who are awake, we have in our hands a rather interesting match-up folks. On the one hand we have Bangladesh who looked imperious (as one would expect them to be) against Namibia and Canada, they meekly surrendered to an England side that would do the same against Australia just a few days later. Then there are the Indian boys, led by coach Rahul Dravid and wunderkind/captain Prithvi Shaw, who are yet to show that they have any weakness at all. That they would dominate Zimbabwe and Papua New Guinea was expected but what they did to Australia in their tournament opener sent out an ominous signal to the rest of the teams vying for the trophy.
