To invite this group for a live concert, please visit https://indianraga.com/live or email info@indianraga.com Malargale Malargale, A Cappella Hamir Kalyani infused Carnatic Fusion of A.R. Rahman’s composition from the 1996 Tamil film Love Birds originally sung by playback singers Hariharan and K.S. Chitra. This a cappella rendition of the hit song is embellished with classical improvisations, layered vocal harmonies, and exciting konnakol rhythm. Arjun Ravi Shankar and Alapana Bagirath (vocals and music arrangement) with Sudheendra C Apte (Konnakol) perform this duet drawing inspiration from the IndianRaga video Carnatic Tamil Acappella: Nalinakanthi. Melody, catchy rhythm, a cappella! The piece starts with the familiar Malargale melody sung in a cappella syllables and sargam. The main verse of the song is then sung as a duet after which comes improvisation. The piece ends with a tribute to raga Hamir Kalyani layered on top of Malargale Malargale.
