Ardhanarishwar is the composite male-female figure of the Hindu God Shiva together with his consort Parvati. The right side of the figure is adorned with the traditional ornaments of Shiva. Half of the hair is piled in a hair dressing of matted locks with the Moon and Ganga River, half of a third eye is visible on the forehead, wearing a tiger skin and wearing serpent surrounding neck. The left half shows Parvati -the epitome of beauty, hair well combed and knotted, half of a Bindi on the forehead, wearing saree, an anklet.
