Inner Space Center's video: Northwest Passage Project Highlights July 29 2019

@Northwest Passage Project Highlights July 29, 2019
The expedition ran into more dense ice floes which forced a change to the expedition planning. However, a benefit is that the scientists and students on board had the opportunity to go out on the ice and take some ice cores. They found some of the floes were multiyear ice, which means that sea ice did not melt last summer. The multiyear ice had a thickness of 2.4 meters (7.9 feet). Expedition scientists and student teams will be conducting a wide range of research activities to fill critical data gaps in Arctic ocean science.
